BUY RELEASES FROM THIS ARTIST

South London's Custom Blue have recorded and produced for Island, V2, Far Out Recordings and K7 Records prior to releasing with Ho Hum.

With a sound which is at times compared to CSN&Y and at other times Massive Attack, Custom Blue quickly drew a fan base in London around their successful Cargo shows which had energy in abundance.

Custom Blue's debut album 'All Follow Everyone' was met with great critical acclaim with its release on Island Records in 2002. The single 'So Low' from the album was released and went on to be featured in the film 'The Transporter.' This was a highlight for Alex Pilkington and Simon Shippey who dreamt up the idea of the band whilst at school in south London together.

Following their departure from Universal in 2003, Custom Blue have released on Far Out Recordings and produced an album for Beth Hirsch whilst also releasing on K7 as well as working on remixes for Ed Vallance and Kym Brown. During this period they also found time to release an album of esoteric electronica under the alias Hoighty Beaver on Blank Page records.

In 2007 Custom Blue released a 7" on Far Out Recordings entitled 'Under the Counter' b/w 'You're On Your Own' XFM's Nick Luscombe at the time described it as his release of the year. Nick followed this statement up by making Custom Blue's 2008 single on Ho Hum Records, 'When it Burns' b/w 'Without You' his NME Radio single of the week. Alongside Nick, both Benji B and Ross Allen (who first signed the band) have played Custom Blue many times, as has the legendary late-night DJ Chris Coco.

During the last few years Alex has also worked with Azymuth and Arthur Verocai in Brazil, whilst Simon has been working in New York with singer/songwriter Ed Vallance and psych-rock collective Crown The Invisible.

Simon has released 2 EP's under the name 'Peace For Old Ghosts' which are available on the Eyeless label; Alex is also soon to release his debut solo album as The Willow in 2011 on Ho Hum. The output from both Alex and Simon shows little sign of slowing down.

The latest Custom Blue album 'All Will Be Well' was very well received; with the band in their finest acoustic form to date 'All Will Be Well' is a refined piece of alt-folk which has restored the critical acclaim back to the Custom Blue mantle.
