Various Artists - Far Out Instrumental Brasileiro Groove

Lovingly compiled by Far Out founder Joe Davis, who recorded these tracks at source in Rio de Janeiro between 1994 and today. This hugely popular movement was at its peak in the 1970s around Brazil spawning cult figures in the genre such as Hemeto Pascoel, Egberto Gismonti, Som3 and Far Out’s most famous sons Azymuth – who feature on the album and as a great influence throughout. Legendary Brazilian musicians and Far Out recording artists featured here include the world famous Joyce, Arthur Verocai, Azymuth, Marcos Valle and the Ipanemas. Far Out’s trademark sound is in part based around this popular instrumental music, as this album testifies, developing this as Far Out became one of the most respected UK independent labels going from strength to strength in their 15th year. This cinematic instrumental music is played by many artists fusing influences from all over Brazil – from the North (Bahia), the South Coast and in to the Interior. ‘Instrumental Brasileiro Groove’ perfectly showcases these glorious instrumental hybrids.
