Rhythmix Roots takes inspiration from the album Rhythmix previously released on CD in 2002. Mixing elements of roots percussion with drum and bass, house and electronica this DOWNLOAD ONLY features 2 previously unreleased tracks with a major emphasis on the roots of Brazilian music.

The precession starts with Batucada com Mingo with is taken from the Friends from Rio LP, recorded live in Rio 1996. Recently featured on CSI Miami, this early Far Out project boasts a cream of musicians including Marcos Valle, Raul De Souza, Celia Vaz and Wanda Sa alongside well renowned percussionist Mingo Araujo.

Immortal Mindz, well known for his connections to the 4hero camp serves up a dynamic and drum fuelled take on the classic Os Grillos - one of three tracks that are download exclusives.

Bandito Batucada lends to the carnival spirit with highly sought after track by Natural Element’s, one of Far Out’s first ever electronic producers. This track fuses elements of live jazz with an off the wall mix of acid and batucada available for the first time ever as a digital download.

Check out the killer cut Aoyman San with a diverse mix of funk and batucada in a new rhythmical hybrid. Wilson Das Neves, legendary for his drumming expertise, is present in both Grupo Batuque tracks Jandaia and Aoyman San. Grupo Batuque appear once again with the track ‘Jongo Jade’, a traditional African call and response pattern, with the drum answered by a distinctive spiritual vocal.

Jose Bertrami of Azymuth rekindles the soundtrack genre with Ausgang - A 22nd century nugget combining live batucada with acid craziness and weird effects. Azymuth’s influence is felt again on Frangalia by Mamond an album predominately coordinated by Ivan Conti of Azymuth.
