Sabrina Malheiros Latest Release:'New Morning'

Following her best-selling debut album 'Equilibria', singer-songwriter Sabrina Malheiros returns with 'New Morning', an album of 21st century bossa – soul that mixes bossa, samba, disco and house together to create a sophisticated and sublime album.
‘New Morning’ is what Sabrina Malheiros describes as a ‘more organic’ follow up to the critically acclaimed ‘Equilibria’. Armed with a strong calibre of musicians, Sabrina Malheiros embarked on a rite of passage that resulted in an album that can only be described as a masterpiece. Sabrina Malheiros is a highly accomplished young musician who has a musical heritage that is deeply rooted in Brazilian musical history. As the daughter of Alex Malheiros, the bassist from the legendary Azymuth; Sabrina is clearly under no illusion as to the influence this had in her musical journey. ‘With my father in Azymuth and my grandfather with Sergio Mendes, I have always been surrounded by the samba beat!

Far Out Recordings pays homage to one of Brazil's most accomplished artist and composer whose influence in defining the shape and direction of bossa nova from the 1960s to present day cannot be ignored. Carioca Soul is a collection of Marcos’s personal favourite tracks from his three studio albums on Far Out Recordings between 1994 and 2008 and includes 3 previously unreleased live versions of Samba de Verao, Mentira and Batucada Surgiu.

Following on from previous Brazilka selectors by dance music pioneers Kenny Dope and 4hero, Far Out Recordings decided to peer further down the periscope and brought in Manchester based Andy Votel. A highly respected record collector; known internationally amongst DJ's, record collectors and producers as a champion of obscure psych-folk-prog-hiphop-jazz-trash-kraut-fuzz-tropicalia and funk. Andy Votel’s expertise in unearthing and popularising left field and long lost forgotten musical gems is evident from the material released on his Manchester based record label Finders Keepers and has previously worked with the likes of Badly Drawn Boy and as well as released artist albums through XL Recordings.

Votel’s twisted tale unearths a vast array of weird and wonderful musical stories from the likes of Os Mutantes, Novos Bianos, Sidney Miller, Os Brazoes and Azymuth. All tracks were originally conceived in the same climate that spawned samba rock and tropicalia yet pages away from the scrutiny of the political dictatorships of the 1970s and very different to the catalogues held by the European majors.
