Pre-Order the Vinyl LP from the Far Out Shop | Bandcamp Far Out Recordings are honoured to be working with master composer, arranger and pianist, Antonio Adolfo for the first time since releasing his Destiny album in 2007. This time we present the first ever vinyl reissue of his era-defining Viralata LP: An essential album from Brazil's majorly progressive heyday of late seventies jazz-funk. Viralata is a sacred artefact of Brazilian music, which Antonio himself describes as ‘a product of my hybrid musical influences that joins together flavours of marchinhas de carnaval, frevo, toada, classical, baião, mpb and jazz, etc’....

Following the recent reissues of Jose Mauro's Obnoxius and Victor Assis Brasil's Toca Antonio Carlos Jobim, comes Piri's Vocês Querem Mate?, the third release in the gold mine catalogue of legendary producer Roberto Quartin's self-titled label. The first recording by the relatively unknown singer / songwriter Piry Reis is dreamy and ethereal, groovy Brazilian psych-folk at its finest. Reis has collaborated with greats like Egberto Gismonti and Robertinho Silva, and had his music performed by Celia, Charlie Haden and Jan Garbarek. He passed away aged just thirty-five, but by this point his status was already cemented as one of Brazil’s top players.
